While most plumbing issues are able to be delayed until normal business hours, there can be rare situations where you need a plumber fast and waiting until the following business day just isn’t feasible.
Common emergency jobs that may require immediate attention include:
In these cases, you will need a plumber who can attend your home and either fix the issue totally, or at the very least, contain the situation until the job can be completed during normal business hours.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This pricing only applies to emergency work, where the customer calls me and requests the work be completed after hours.
It does not apply to normal day-to-day work, where I may work outside standard business hours in my normal course of business, including if I choose to do non-emergency work on the weekends, in which case these after-hours prices do not apply.
The cost associated with emergency after-hours work is substantially more expensive than work carried out during the standard business hours of Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm, which is why it is highly recommended to customers that it is best to wait until these times if possible.
The following prices are displayed here for full transparency, so please review them carefully.
Monday to Friday 5am – 7:30am and 4:30pm – 9pm
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 5am - 4:30pm
$330 inc GST - includes 1 full hour On-Site
$165 inc GST per hour thereafter
(Charged in blocks of $41.25 inc GST per 15 minutes.)
Monday to Friday 9pm - 5am
Saturday, Sunday and Public holidays 4:30pm - 5am
$460 inc GST - includes 1 full hour On-Site
$230 inc GST per hour thereafter
(Charged in blocks of $57.50 inc GST per 15 minutes.)
Use of Drain Clearing equipment, including CCTV camera is a once off extra fee of $150 inc GST.
Temporary Hot Water system (50L) rental fee of $55 inc GST (per week)
The following are examples of how this pricing model works:
EXAMPLE 1
I attend the property at 11am on a Sunday for a 'no hot water' issue.
The hot water system has totally failed and it is not an easily repairable issue such as a faulty thermostat.
I isolate the existing hot water system, install a temporary 50L electric hot water system and supply the customer with a quote for replacement during normal business hours. This takes a total of 50 minutes on-site.
The cost is broken down like this:
EXAMPLE 2
I attend the property at 9:30pm on a Friday night to clear a blocked sewer drain, which takes 1 hour and 12 minutes on-site.

The customer must accept the after-hours charges detailed above by SMS text message before travel to the job begins.
Complete payment must be made by Credit Card or Cash at job completion.
A detailed invoice will be provided by email.
If you are a tenant and have an emergency situation in your rental property, you MAY be entitled to organise to have this emergency addressed yourself.
But there are certain requirements that must be met for these situations, so please read the following information carefully.
Emergency Repairs and Tenants Rights
Please note, that if you engage Mount Coolum Plumbing to do an emergency after-hours job at your rental property, then payment must be made by yourself and then you can apply for reimbursement from the Landlord.
As Mount Coolum Plumbing is a very small business, with myself being the solo plumber, there may be times where I may not be contactable and/or just won't be available to attend an emergency job after-hours. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
